First Blog

This is a test of my first blog attempt. Not quite sure what this narcissistic exercise will produce. Probably, I'll be blogging about our polity and politics. Am reading Gore Vidal's essays and they are influencing me again. I'm afraid I'm equally unsanguine about the state of our republic and the malfunction of our democracy. Can't be as acerbic or funny as he is in describing my disillusion.
